Strategic Cooperation Between Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan and South Korea Discussed

Recently, an online meeting was held between the International Kurash Institute and one of South Korea’s leading higher education institutions — Jungwon University — to discuss the establishment of promising cooperation relations.

The meeting, organized via the Zoom platform, was attended by the Rector of the International Kurash Institute Khabibulla Tadjiev, Head of the Educational Department Kim Eurjoong, Head of the International Relations Department Khurshida Yakupova, President of the Korea Kurash Federation Mr. Hyeong Sik Bae, as well as Professor of Jungwon University Mr. Kwon Jung Hyun.

It is worth noting that Jungwon University is a prestigious higher education institution in South Korea with an innovative education system and a strong sports infrastructure. The university holds a high international ranking, particularly in the fields of physical education and sports.

During the meeting, several important issues aimed at advancing cooperation to a new level were discussed. In particular, the participants considered the establishment of a Kurash Department within Jungwon University and the systematic teaching of the scientific and theoretical foundations of Kurash. The parties also discussed the involvement of the Institute’s qualified experts in the educational process, as well as the participation of Jungwon University professors specializing in sports and sports medicine in the Institute’s three-month training courses.

In addition, the sides discussed reaching a tripartite agreement envisaging student exchange between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and South Korea in the fields of physical education, sports, and technology. The introduction of modern sports technologies and innovative methodologies into Kurash training was also among the key topics.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed on a relevant roadmap outlining further steps for the implementation of the discussed initiatives.
