Kurash in Africa: Annual results and future prospects
Today, the President of the African Kurash Union, Thomas Dunker, visited the International Kurash Institute and met with Rector Khabibulla Tadjiev.
During the visit, they discussed and agreed on plans to train specialists for all AKU member federations, as well as new educational programs and joint training sessions for coaches and referees across Africa.
Thomas Dunker emphasized the importance of collaboration with IKI for developing Kurash on the continent: "I am delighted to visit the International Kurash Institute and meet with its head, Khabibulla Tadjiev. I deeply value our fruitful cooperation. This year, we jointly organized several significant events, including specialist training programs, seminars as part of the African Kurash Championship, and a 1-month online course for all coaches and referees from African Kurash federations. I am confident that our partnership will continue to open new horizons for the growth of Kurash in Africa."
As previously reported, leading Kurash experts conducted a month-long program to share their expertise with African specialists. The intensive online course, organized by the International Kurash Institute with support from the African Kurash Union and the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sport, enabled over 40 participants to enhance their skills and knowledge.
