Comprehensive Preparation in the Course Program
Tashkent, October 27 — The final practical stage of the three-month online course aimed at training international kurash specialists is continuing with great intensity at the Kurash Complex of Tashkent State Transport University. Organized by the International Kurash Institute, this intensive course is designed not only to deepen participants’ mastery of kurash techniques but also to develop qualified experts in pedagogy, history, philosophy, and unified international refereeing standards.
The day’s agenda focused on one of the important directions of the Kurash Techniques — the “Yelka” group of techniques. This stage was conducted by the Institute’s experienced experts — Mohammadvahid Poresfandiar, Ajmal Iskhaq Zai, Rizomat Soliev, Feruz Bobomurodov, and Shukhrat Kurbanov. Participants thoroughly learned both the theoretical foundations and practical subtleties of complex techniques aimed at throwing the opponent over the shoulder.
The second half of the day began with a theoretical lecture on “The History of Kurash”, delivered by the Rector of the International Kurash Institute, Khabibulla Tadjiev.
In his lecture, the Rector analyzed the evolution of Kurash from its three-and-a-half-millennia-old roots as an ancient national heritage to its formation as a modern international sport. He emphasized that through the efforts of the International Kurash Association (IKA), Kurash has been included in the programs of prestigious events such as the Asian Games, the Islamic Solidarity Games, and the Beach Games. Furthermore, he highlighted the significant role of Kurash’s philosophical principles — humanity, honesty, and tolerance — in the education and moral development of young kurashchis.
After the theoretical session, the program continued with practical training. Under the guidance of Institute experts Ali Shaherkani and Kim Eurjoong, specialized workshops on refereeing rules were held, further strengthening the participants’ qualifications as future international referees.
The comprehensive nature of these sessions demonstrates that the course is fully dedicated to preparing well-rounded experts for the international Kurash arena.
