The final stage of the training course for international kurash coaches has been completed
The final stage of an international training course for kurash coaches was successfully held in Tashkent from April 22–27, 2026. Organized by the International Kurash Institute, this “Three-Month Online Course” was designed for kurash specialists and concluded with an in-person practical phase.
As part of the program, nearly 30 specialists from more than 15 countries participated in comprehensive training sessions focused on the technical and methodological principles of kurash, as well as the fundamentals of international refereeing.
The practical sessions were conducted under the leadership of IKA Technical Director Ravi Kapoor and IKI Vice-Rector Komil Mukhammadiyev, with supervision from experts including Kim Eurjoong, Ajmal Ishaq Zai, Feruz Bobomurodov, Nuriddin Chorshamiev, Shukhrat Qurbanov, Mirsaid Abdullaev, Khurshida Yakupova, Sukhrob Sodikov, and Muhammadamin Solijonov.
During the week-long practical phase, key techniques of “Kurash Usul” and refereeing rules were analyzed on the gilam, strengthening participants’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Notably, this course was held for the first time at the newly established Olympic City in Tashkent. The practical sessions were also observed by Otabek Umarov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
During the visit, Rector of the International Kurash Institute Khabibulla Tadjiev and Secretary General of the International Kurash Association Mohammad Reza Nassiri provided detailed information on the modern methodologies used in the training program and the participants’ performance outcomes.
Additionally, course participants attended the “Breath of Navruz and the Cultures of Amir Temur’s Empire” festival at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, where they became acquainted with the rich national traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.
At the conclusion of the course, participants underwent theoretical tests and practical examinations. Those who successfully met the requirements were awarded special certificates from the International Kurash Institute during a ceremonial event held at the Olympic and Paralympic Glory Museum.
In his speech, IKA Vice President Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja emphasized the strategic importance of training qualified professionals for the further development of kurash.
At the end of the event, guests toured the Olympic and Paralympic Glory Museum, showcasing Uzbekistan’s sporting achievements, as well as the International Kurash Association Museum, which reflects the rich historical heritage of kurash.
This international project contributes to strengthening the scientific and methodological foundation of kurash and to developing a global network of professional coaches based on unified educational standards.
